The Board of Landscape Architecture announces that the program for the March 2012 Landscape Architect Licensure Examination also known as Landscape Architect Board Exam will be held in city of Manila on March 20, 21 and 22, 2012. This program announcement is officially released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).

LANDSCAPE TECHNOLOGY AND MATERIALS
Application of the various technological knowledge that goes into the development of land areas such as site grading and surfacing, irrigation and drainage, lighting and other outdoor utilities and fixtures and the various materials, whether natural or man-made, used therein, expressed in graphic design, working drawings and specifications.

ECOLOGY AND NATURE CONSERVATION
Understanding of the ecosystem, i.e. the characteristics and symbiotic relationship of the natural element, of animals and plants, of man and nature. The study of the protection, conservation and rehabilitation of the natural scenery and environment.

PLANTING DESIGN AND INTERIOR PLANTSCAPING
The functional, ecological, economic and aesthetic applications of plants and plant materials, their documentary representations for design purposes; the design relationship of landscape architecture and building interiors and the applications of plant materials to the design of interiors.

HISTORY AND THEORY OF LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE
Developmental history of landscape architecture; geography; and its relevance and importance to civilization and society. Application of the principles of good design composition expressed in vision dynamics in environmental premises.

PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE AND ETHICS
Knowledge in Office and project procedures and management; preparation of specification, estimates, contracts and other pertinent documents; and knowledge of the various laws and codes governing the practice of the profession, responsibilities to society, relationship with clients, fellow landscape architects’ architects, allied professionals, contractors, material dealers, aspirants to the profession and other parties involved.

IMPORTANT:

1.     Your school/building assignments will be posted at the PRC premises two to three working days before the examination. Bring your NOTICE OF ADMISSION when you verify your school/building assignment. Visit your school/building assignment prior to the day of the examination.

2.     Report to your school/building assignment before 6:30 a.m. on the first day of examination to verify your room and seat number.  Be punctual, late examinees will not be admitted. Examination Fee of ABSENT examinees will be forfeited.

3.     Examinees are required to wear the following attire every examination day:

Male Examinees – White polo shirts or t-shirts with collar, tucked-in
Female Examinees – White blouses or t-shirts with collar

4.     Bring the following on examination day:

·         Notice of Admission
·        Official Receipt
·        One piece metered-stamped window mailing envelope
·         Two or more pencils (No. 2)
·        Ball pens with BLACK ink only
·        One (1) piece long brown envelope
·        One (1) piece long transparent/plastic envelope (for keeping your valuables and other allowed items)
5.     The following are Prohibited inside the examination premises/rooms.
·        Books, notes, review materials and other printed materials containing coded data/information/formula
·        PROGRAMMABLE CALCULATORS.
·        Cellular phones, beepers, portable computers or other similar gadgets/devices.
·        Bags of any kind (ladies bag, shoulder bags, attaché case, backpacks, etc.)
·        Other examination aides not stated on this program.

NOTE: PRC will not be answerable for prohibited items that will be lost.

6.     Read carefully and follow the instruction on your Notice of Admission and Examines Guide.


SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS:

1.     Every candidate is required to bring to the examination room everyday drawing boards not less than 20” by 30” with the corresponding T-Squares, set of drawing instruments, architect’s metric scale; 60 degrees and 45 degrees triangles’ protractors, pencils, technical pens, Elmer’s glue, pair of scissors, stapler, erasers and all other tools required for drawing purposes. Use only official tracing paper supplied by the PRC.

2.     Candidates will not be allowed to leave the examination rooms, borrows anything or communicate with one another on any subject matter. Every candidate is required to bring his/her lunch and/or supper (placed inside transparent/plastic bags) with him/her during the examination. No food of any kind carried by any persons intended for any candidate during the progress of the examination shall be entertained by watchers or received by any candidate.
